2. It made up new cities
Salt has this unique ability to preserve food. And, the gradual production and the transportation of salt gave rise to new cities like Salzburg of Italy, which means "city of salt".

3. It holds a symbolic value
Do you know the holy bible contains numerous references to salt? If you have ever read the bible, you would know this fact that in different context word salt is used metaphorically to signify permanence, loyalty, durability, fidelity, usefulness, value, and purification.

4. You can’t cut it down
You might be asked to curb the amount of salt quite often, we know that it is not an easy task. Cutting salt down your food is something as near as impossible. Other seasonings can still be cut down but salt is the most difficult one to go away with.
