Well! This goes without saying that India is a country where quality tea is grown and consumed and is the favorite beverage of mostly everyone. Turns out, nation’s much want hot beverage chai has given its staunch lovers a new reason to indulge in their mad cravings. A new study by the Perking University has claimed that consumption of tea sharpens focus and mental clarity which in turn mental creativity. So, now you have a good reason to grab your cup and go through this one.

According to the study, the flow of creative fluids in one’s mind can be felt within moments of getting done with a cup of tea. A team of psychologists conducted two separate tests on 50 students of an average age of 23. One half was given just a glass of water while the other half was given a cup of black tea to drink before starting with the monitoring process.

Published in the Food Quality and Preference journal, the study reveals that consuming tea throughout the day acts as a boost in the creativity levels. The study states, “This work contributes to understanding the function of tea on creativity and offers a new way to investigate the relationship between food and beverage consumption and the improvement of human cognition”. It further states the role of caffeine and theanine which further acts as a catalyst for the attention and cognitive function of the brain.

The examination needed its participants to build an “attractive and creative” construction out of building blocks while the other was asked to give a “cool” name to a fictional noodle restaurant. The entire outcome was judged depending on the creativity level by other students who were not a part of the initial study.

The study further adds that all of this entirely depends on the amount of tea intake on a daily basis. The researchers have stated that excess of anything is unhealthy and the same rule applies to this. Despite the reasoning, the whole study undoubtedly gives you a solid reason to get hold of that ‘garam chai ki pyali’ and quench your thirst for it.
