Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike has achieved another feat after becoming 2019's first blockbuster to have surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark. The Aditya Dhar directorial has bagged the second position in IMDb's Top Rated Indian Movies list with an 8.6 rating right after Rajesh Khanna’s blockbuster movie Anand of the year 1971.
Uri: The Surgical Strike is Bollywood’s second entrant into the list after Anand. Currently, it’s on the sixth week at the box office, and seems to have been running unaffected by the competition it's receiving from Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy. Its present box office figures stand at Rs 228.77 crore.
The film is based on the Indian Army's 2016 surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan as a retaliation for the Uri attack that took the lives of 17 army personnel. Uri: The Surgical Strike has also merged victoriously beating the fourth-week collections of blockbusters such as Dangal, Sanju, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Padmaavat, and Sultan.
Featuring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role and Directed by Ronnie Screwvala, Uri: The Surgical Strike also stars Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, and Kirti Kulhari among others. The movie has achieved an appreciation sees no end. The sheer brilliance of direction and of course the poignant acting by Vicky Kaushal has achieved him incredible fame. And coming to the slogan, “How’s the josh?” which seems to have spread like a wildfire has created a stir in the entire nation.
According to a report in Livemint, “IMDb has curated a list of India’s top 250 movies based on a weighted average of user ratings. All the films on this list have had at least 5,000 users casting votes, with more weight given to regular user votes.”
