Did you forget about that sensual man Gerard Butler who took you, heart, away and then wrenched it in the emotional ride of P.S. I LOVE YOU? Then recall him, as it’s time to get indulged in its sequel. Yes, you heard that right! On March 11, author Cecelia Ahern announced that she’s done with writing the sequel of the international bestseller upon which the 2007 romance is based and it’s even better.
The book will spread across later this year! "I have BIG NEWS!" the Irish author shared with fans on Twitter. "I've written the sequel to PS I LOVE YOU - titled POSTSCRIPT. POSTSCRIPT will be published September 19th in the UK & Ireland. I hope you'll welcome back Holly... & Gerry...& that reading it will be as emotional for you as it was for me."
Ahern came up with the first novel back in 2004, which follows the life of a happy married couple Holly and Gerry (played in the movie by Hilary Swank and Butler, respectively). The heart breaking part-when Gerry learns he has a brain tumor and dies, leaving Holly to pick up and mend the pieces of their shattered life. Fortunately, her grief gradually starts getting healed (somewhat) when she discovers that Gerry secretly left behind a present, of sorts to help her cope with his loss and those are- 10 letters that each contain heartfelt messages to her, all signed the same way ("P.S. I love you"). And with each letter, you can’t hold your tears.
Although Ahern has yet to put some specifications about what Postscript will be about, clearly Holly and Gerry will be a part of it. It’s time to hoard the tissues for one more time!
