When people talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they mostly mean the movies in the MCU. However, there’s an underrated Marvel world and that is the realm of the animated movies.
With so many to choose from, we’ve picked 5 of the best Marvel animated movies, ranked from worst to first:
5. LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES: MAXIMUM OVERLOAD
LEGO and Marvel Entertainment hold a great connection and have worked together for some amazing projects. The LEGO Marvel video games are said to be the best LEGO games on the market and they have worked together for a number of movies as well. The first of these came on the surface in 2013 with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload.
4. THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN
In 2004, Marvel Studios collaborated with Lionsgate to release a series of films, starting with Ultimate Avengers. The third film of the series was The Invincible Iron Man. While all of these were in the same production line, this movie was not in the same shared universe as the Ultimate Avengers movie rather it was in the mainstream Marvel Universe.
3. PLANET HULK
After releasing six movies in their new animated series, Marvel Studios picked up one of its most popular comic stories and turned it into a flick. That movie was Planet Hulk and it was one of the most trustworthy adaptations that Marvel has ever made into a movie.
2. DOCTOR STRANGE: THE SORCERER SUPREME
Marvel's animation studio turned its focus after the Ultimate Avengers to Doctor Strange, and comic book fans knew all about but mainstream fans might have been little unfamiliar with it at the time, which resulted in a huge cut in sales but a movie that actually received some critical acclamation.
1. BIG HERO 6
The first Marvel animated movie that was released into theaters are from Disney with Big Hero 6. As it was a Disney Animation project, that didn't really affect much and it was a success both critically and commercially, a big victory for Marvel and Disney Animation alike.
