Uri: The Surgical Strike fame actor Vicky Kaushal is all set for his new movie. It is the first time that the actor will be seen in a biopic. In the movie, Vicky will be playing the role of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh. The first look of the biopic of Freedom Fighter Sardar Udham Singh is out.

Vicky Kaushal can be seen clean shaved in an oversized coat with a hat in his hand giving quite an intense look. Apart from this, there was also a wound seen on his cheek. Another picture of the shooting occurred. In which Vicky Kaushal was seen with director Shoojit Sircar. The film is being shot in St. Petersburg.

The film is set to release in 2020 and is being produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sahil Kumar. Earlier actor Irrfan Khan was chosen for the role. Due to his illness, he couldn’t do the film and thus Vicky Kaushal was Cast for the same.

The director Shoojit Sircar had spilled beans about the casting of Vicky Kaushal in a recent interview: – Intensity and anger which I witnessed in Vicky’s eyes during the first meeting, I was convinced that he was the perfect person to play the role of Udham. He is absolutely right for this character. The film is based on the life of Udham Singh, especially about an incident for which we have already researched. Because Vicky is a from a Sikh Punjab family, he has a great responsibility to show Brave Fighter on the screen.

Udham Singh was a part of the Gadar Party. Udham Singh had killed General Dyer on March 13, 1940. After this, Udham Singh was hanged to death on July 31, 1940. General Dyer had ordered the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. This biopic is a valor display of India's and freedom fighters struggle to achieve freedom.
