Just a couple of days back reports of T Series registering the title Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 surfaced. The original film was (as known to many) an official remake of the Tamil hit Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth. And again, Chandramukhi, itself was a remake of 1993 Malayalam film, Manichitrathazhu starring Mohanlal and Shobana.
The film is all about the story a US-based couple Siddharth Chaturvedi (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), who decides to visit their paternal mansion in India. The newlyweds are warmly welcomed; but when Siddharth insists on staying on in his ancestral mansion much to the dismay of his relatives, especially his uncle Badrinarayan Chaturvedi (Manoj Joshi), who openly voiced his disapproval. They were warned about the mansion being haunted, but nevertheless, he shifts there. Soon, strange things begin to happen and he is forced to call his psychiatrist friend Aditya (Akshay) for help. The film also featured Amisha Patel, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.
Director Farhad is currently working on his project Akshay’s Housefull 4. His writing credits include the upcoming Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No 1, a remake of the David Dhawan, Govinda hit of the ’90s.
