Claude Monet was a French painter, most famous for the I mpressionist Paintings which is a 19th-century art movement. One of his paintings from the haystack collection has been sold out at an auction and it broke all the records of painting prices of impressionist art. There are a lot of impressionist paintings that have been sold at very high prices but this one, Mueles, is the costliest of all. The painting was sold at a whopping price of Rs 7,78,61,39,850 (USD 110.7 million), and people cannot keep calm after that. In the year 1890, the painting was made with oil on canvas, and none of the other impressionist arts were sold at a higher price than 7 crores.
Any of the Monet paintings weren’t sold at such a price that this painting with haystacks was sold. The haystacks were of the neighborhood of Claude Monet where stacks of harvested wheat could be seen. In 8 minutes of the start of the auction, the price was already 778 crores with 5 bidders trailing behind. People on social media are going crazy over this that who the hell wastes so much money in buying a painting that costs this much. Some of them said, “110 million for a painting!! What are they smoking over there?”, another said that instead they would just google the picture and save a buttload of money.
One of them said “110 million? I only have $3, what should I do.” Well, these are some rich people problems and we the middle-class people would not understand it no matter what. Logically no matter how good the painting is and we are not arguing about the value of it or criticizing the art but so much for a painting is sheer stupidity and only the extra rich people can afford to do such stunts and not feel stupid even after doing it. Let us know in the comments section below that whether you support these kind of people or not.
