It is not just inhuman to hurt an animal but also a horrific sight to see them get hurt. Yet, road accidents hurting animals badly remain a persisting safety hazard on our roads, and very less measure has been taken to improve this situation. But, now a ray of hope has been cast by the Noida administration who have identified this grave problem and have come up with a genius solution that could make the roads safer for both animals and commuters. According to a TOI report, the Noida government is in plans to reduce animal-related road accidents by building an eco-bridge for them to cross busy highways.
The eco-bridge for animal crossings will be developed in the Sector 91 area of Noida. The report says that Noida is planning to make Sector 91 an eco-tourism hub with a luscious 146-acre green belt comprising a city forest, wetland, biodiversity park, and a herbal garden. The biodiversity park is almost on the verge of completion. The eco-tourism zone will be further divided into two parts - one comprising the city forest and biodiversity park, and the other presenting a herbal garden and a wetland. The bridge will connect the two parts and also act like an animal crossing over the busy highway just below it.
The first of its kind in the country, the eco-bridge is anticipated to become quite a great tourist spot, along with the eco-tourism zone, once its construction gets over. The area will be accessible via Sector 137 and Sector 83 metro stations. This can really be considered as a big measure and an inventive way to avoid road accidents and enhance tourism in the NCR region simultaneously.
