‘Kamal Amrohi Studio’ was established by late Indian film director and screenwriter, Syed Amir Haider Kamal Naqvi in 1958. The studio which was built by him on the 15-acres land in Jogeshwari area of the megapolis, of which some portion of it was sold by his three sons to three builders in 2010. The studio was then acquired by DB Realty along with the Mahal Pictures.
The studio has shot some of the big Bollywood hits such as Mahal Pakeezah, Razia Sultan and Amar Akbar Anthony, of which movie; Dabbang 2 also remains a part. Apart from it some of the television shots were also shot at the complex. The studio will now be converted into the commercial property as country’s largest corporate park and may be named as Aspire. The studio is the second studio after, RK studio which would be converted into a commercial hub.
The agreement has been settled with Bengaluru- headquarter real estate firm to RMZ Corp. Mahal Pictures Pvt. Ltd( MPPL), which is an associate of DB Realty will develop it into a park with RMZ group and the financial details of the same have been not shared yet.
