‘The sky is pink’, whose filming began on 8th August 2018 in Mumbai, completed its shoot a day before yesterday as actors Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar wrapped the film shooting. Based on the inspiring story of a 15- year old girl Aisha, the film is already in talks. Aisha was born with severe combined immune deficiency and had a bone marrow transplant when she was just 6 months old. She even lost her life at the age of 15.
From being able to walk around freely and go to school to unable to turn over in bed without even getting the breath here is the inspiring story of Aisha, whose life inspired the movie…..
Aisha who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease in 2010 had trouble walking and navigating staircases as her lung capacity was reduced to just 25%. She was using portable oxygen from the age of 15.
Aisha loved writing and was highly efficient in English as she had grown up in the U.K. She never thought she would write a book. When she was bedridden in 2014 her mother asked her to pen down her thoughts as she started thinking about a lot of things. To this, she replied, who would read her, which was proven wrong on her own when her book was published hours before she died. She started to pen down her thoughts in a unique form of doddle art which is part of the book ‘MY LITTLE EPIPHANIES’.
At the age of 17, she inspired everyone with her motivational talk. She says “Life can be tough when every single breath you take is a struggle. She had sleepless nights, just thinking, tossing and thinking with the idea that she would soon die and what’s the point of doing anything. However, she realised that everyone has to die sooner or later and it really does not matter when and how does this happen. What really matters is the “HAPPINESS” and happiness is the choice one makes.
