A total of 714 runs were scored in yesterday match played between Australia and Bangladesh, breaking the record for the most number of runs in a world cup match. While Australia played exceptionally brilliant knock and successfully set the target of 381 runs, Bangladesh gave a biting edge competition to the opposition and recorded their ODI highest total of 331/8. The previous best record remains 688 runs which were made in the Australia- Sri Lanka world cup match played in 2015 WORLD CUP.


Who were the star performers in the record-breaking match?

The ‘Warner’ factor in the match:


David Warner scored 166 runs, the highest in the tournament so far. He also hit his 16th ODI, the second batsman to do so in 110 innings, the only other to do so is Virat Kohli. Warner who is looking in outstanding form have had already score a match-winning knock of 107 runs off 109 balls against Pakistan. He started the tournament with unbeaten 89 against Afghanistan.

Rahim century maiden century:


Mushfiqur Rahim who is playing his fourth world cup scored his maiden world cup century. To do so, he is the third Bangladeshi player who has scored a century in the world cup. The other Bangladeshi players who have scored the world cup century are Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan.

2. Aaron Finch- 53 runs( Australia)
3. Mahmudullah-69 runs( Bangladesh)
4. Tamim Iqbal- 62 runs( Bangladesh)
