Well, as unbelievable as it sounds for many but for some reason, lots of people don’t get high the first time they smoke weed, even if it’s really organic stuff. It can seriously be a turnoff. When finally you make up your mind and try it just to find nothing.
In 1970, the early stoner book, ‘A Child’s Garden of Grass,’ said about people’s difficulty when getting high for the first time. There was even a study of it back in the 1960s. Forty-one percent of first-time smokers reported not getting high on their initial try. Thirteen percent weren’t really sure if they were high.
No definite research has come up with a reason behind such condition, till then here are the major assumptions that have been made:

1. Not inhaling correctly
It can be true but only to some extent, it seems unlikely that this explains all cases of people struggling to get high for the first time. Also, many people who aren’t very skilled inhaling still manage to get high for the first time, on their first try.

2. You need to learn how to get high first
Awareness of your disposition, of an altered state, can be even more subjective. For many of us, it may be that the first gentle kush from cannabis isn’t enough to get us over that consciousness between high and not high. After a few trials, perhaps stoners learn to recognize the cues.

3. The question is, is it physically impossible for few to get high?
Some have got into the idea that the ability to get high is related to the receptivity of the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. The CB1 receptors, which bind to THC and thus functionalize its psychoactive effects, must be present.
