The British established the Kumaon Regiment in 1813. The Kumaun regiment has so far received all the prizes including 2 Param Vir Chakra, 4 Ashok Chakra, 10 Mahavir Chakra, 6 Kirti Chakra. The Kumaon Regiment has shown its jaws in all the wars. Kumaon Regiment is stationed in Siachen Glacier, the world's highest battlefield.
Madras Regiment is also one of the oldest regiments of the Indian Army. In the 1750s the British established this regiment, which has many achievements in the name. There are 23 battalions in this regiment.
