Salman Khan’ is all set to romance much-younger ‘Alia Bhatt’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Inshallah’. The unconventional pairing attracted flak online due to huge age difference between Salman and Alia. However, their romance is totally justified as they would be seen portraying couple with huge age gap in the film.
According to HT report, Race 3 actor would be playing 40-year-old business tycoon and Kalank actress would be seen essaying role of an aspiring actress in her 20s.A source reported to Mumbai Mirror: “Salman is a businessman in his mid-40s. The character is reminiscent of his turn in his 1997 romcom Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai. Alia plays a 20-something aspiring actress. All the factors, including age gap, have been taken into consideration. The story will justify the teaming up of two actors, from different generations, on a romantic journey.”When the star cast of ‘Inshallah’ was announced, fans speculated that Salman and Alia might play siblings in the film. Haters even criticized their age gap and wondered why stars with such huge age gap have been roped in for the movie. However, Alia gave an apt reaction on the criticism over age gap between her and Salman.
Kalank actress reacted on the criticism as mentioned in HT report: “I didn’t get any criticism. I think I got a lot of excitement. I think speculation is also a form of excitement in a way and why shouldn’t there be speculation. There should be and at least I am not bothered by that and I don’t think Salman or Bhansali sir are bothered. I think this is a filmmaker who has given us very good films, he is someone who we all are very fond of and I think we should just trust him with his vision.”HT report suggests that ‘Inshallah’ would go on floor in September this year. If the report is anything to go by, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film would be shot in the US, Varanasi, Rishikesh and Haridwar. After two decades of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, Sanjay and Salman would be collaborating for ‘Inshallah’. The romantic drama co-produced by Salman Khan Films and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions will be a break for both actor and film-maker. While ‘Inshallah’ would be first love story for Salman after ‘Sultan’, the film would mark Sanjay’s deviation from his usual dark and intense dramas.
