Marathi actress ‘Priya Bapat’ believes that it is a blessing to have godfather in the film industry. The self made actress made her acting debut with a small role in Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ which went on to become a blockbuster. After working in a few Marathi films, Priya is all set to appear in a web series.
Marathi actress is active in the film industry for more than a decade now. She played role of a medical student and a college shop girl in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’.The 32-year-old actress recalled about landing her debut role in cult classics film in an interview to PTI a couple of days ago. She stated as mentioned in Business-standard.com report: "Nothing was planned in my career. When I did 'Munna Bhai...', I was in college. One of our school teachers told me to play the role of a college student. I had to audition for the role and then I got selected as they liked me. And for the second part of the film the makers called me directly. I am grateful for the opportunity."
Priya who never had plans of becoming an actress is interested in doing films of different languages. Business-standard.com report suggests that Marathi actress is all set to make her web debut with Nagesh Kukunoor’s web series ‘City of Dreams’ on Hotstar. Loksatta report suggests that Marathi actress has given bold scenes in her first web series. The political drama produced by Applause entertainment also features ‘Atul Kulkarni’ and ‘Sachin Pilgaonkar’ in key roles.
