For the uninitiated, writer ‘Vinta Nanda’accused character actor Alok of rape. Alok also got accused of sexual harassment by several actresses. Soon after trailer of ‘De De Pyaar De’ released, Tanushree referred to Ajay as morally bankrupt and spineless hypocrite. Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress stated that Alok should have been replaced in the film.Ajay clarified his stance in an interview to IANS as mentioned in News18.com report: "It would also have been a huge monetary loss for producers. The decision to replace Alok Nath could never have been mine alone. In this case, I had to go with the joint decision of the unit. Not to forget, I could not have brought the entire combination of actors back or put up sets again for a 40-day re-shoot. Also, it could have meant doubling of budget, which again wasn't my call to make. It would have to be the call of the makers. Had circumstances played out even slightly differently, I would have pushed for a different combination of actors. Unfortunately, this was not to be."
On the other hand, Tanushree’s younger sister ‘Ishita Dutta’ came out in support of her Drishyam co-star Ajay. While Ishita believes that her sister is supporting truth, she thinks that change in star cast is sole responsibility of makers of the film.”
Besides Ajay, the romantic comedy also stars ‘Tabu’ and ‘Rakul Preet Singh’ in lead roles. ‘De De Pyaar De’ is scheduled to release on May 17.
