Salman Khan's 2015 blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan released in China on March 2 and witnessed positive reviews and fantastic collections on its opening day. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is Salman's first film to release in China as it collected $2.8 million on the first day of its release in the country. Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been dubbed in Chinese and reportedly released across 8,000-plus screens.
Given Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s impressive opening in China, the film is expected to be successful in the country. However, it seems unlikely that it will be able to beat the records of Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday shared pictures of a young fan who braved crowds just to wave at him. Amitabh, who is famously prolific on Twitter, posted pictures of the young girl, who can be seen entering through the gates of his house and posing with the star.“This little one braved the Sunday crowds and came through the gates .. just for a wave .. ! so cute .. !” the veteran actor wrote alongside three pictures. Thousands of people gather outside Amitabh’s Mumbai bungalow every weekend. The star makes it a point to come out and wave to them.
Given Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s impressive opening, the film is expected to be successful. However, chances of repeating the success of Aamir Khan’s Dangal are pretty low. While Dangal was given 62000 shows, Bajrangi Bhaijaan got 19,000 shows in the country. Dangal managed to collect Rs 78.10 crore over the first weekend in China.
The biggest beneficiary of Bollywood’s penetration in China was Aamir Khan’s last release, Secret Superstar. Despite not doing a great business in India, it broke many records in China. Secret Superstar was given double the number of shows than Dangal, and it reciprocated with a collection of approximately Rs 70 crore on its second day.
Dangal eventually totalled Rs 1,850 crore while Secret Superstar registered Rs 760 crore business in China.
Let's see how much profit the movie will earn in upcoming months.
