All eyes on 21-year old Sanjana Sanghi as she gears up to make her leading Bollywood debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput with The Fault In Our Stars remake. Director Mukesh Chabbra made the big announcement this morning saying, “I met Sanjana while casting for Rockstar and found her to be a dynamic girl with great energy. After a few years, she reconnected for a few ad jobs and this time she came across as a mature young lady and to my surprise, a fabulous actor.
I knew instantly that I would love to make a film with her one day. Once The Fault in Our Stars script was ready, she fit right in. She’s the perfect face and I can’t wait to create magic with this talented girl.”
Although Mukesh in his statement mentioned he met Sanjana during Rockstar but people are still under the impression that Fault In Our Stars remake is going to be her first film. Let us break this for you once and for all. The girl who played Nargis Fakhri’s sister – Mandy in Rockstar was none other than Sanjana.
She even shared screen space with Ranbir in the film. Cut to 2017, Sanjana was also seen in Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium. She played the younger Saba Qamar in the film looking as beautiful as ever. Here, below are the stills from both the films:
So technically, The Fault In Our Stars remake won’t be Sanjana’s acting debut. But of course, this can be considered as her first big launch project in Bollywood given that she plays the lead actress, that too opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. She even took to Instagram and expressed her excitement saying, “F I N A L L Y! Proud and honoured to be a part of this! Looking forward to work with my co-star @sushantsinghrajput in the romantic remake of the Hollywood blockbuster #TheFaultInOurStars! Thank you @CastingChhabra & @foxstarhindi for this opportunity
