Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji – Padmaavat
Undoubtedly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat belongs to Ranveer Singh, who portrayed the menacing character of Sultan Alauddin Khilji in the costume drama. Right from his kohl eyes to baritone voice, the actor completely slipped into the role and gave one of his finest performances till date. Though it’s too early to say, we feel the actor has all the chances to sweep all the awards this year for his awesome portrayal.
Akshay Kumar as Lakshmikant Chauhan – Pad Man
Known for his comic timing and action-packed performances, the Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar played the titular role of Pad Man, who makes cheap sanitary pads for women in his village. Akshay’s subtle yet correct approach towards the portrayal made his character connect with the audience on an emotional level. His monologue in the climax will definitely make you clap and leave you feeling content in the end.
Ajay Devgn as Amey Patnaik – Raid
The character of IT officer Amey Patnaik looked as if it was tailor-made for Ajay Devgn. He played the role so effortlessly, that we can’t imagine any other actor, who could have pulled off this character like him. His apt dialogues will definitely make you want to whistle.
Shahid Kapoor as Maharwal Ratan Singh – Padmaavat
If Ranveer Singh’s menacing act was powerful, Shahid Kapoor‘s portrayal of Maharawal Ratan Singh won our hearts, thanks to his honest effort to make this character a memorable one. Shahid conveyed each emotional beautifully with his eyes and made his portrayal royal yet believable at the same time.
Vineet Kumar Singh as Shravan Singh – Mukkabaaz
Mukkabaaz and performance of lead actor Vineet Kumar Singh are definitely two of the underrated things this year. To play the character of a boxer, Vineet underwent through intense physical transformation and brought out small details and nuances as a rebellious boxer. Known for his Danish Khan portrayal in Gangs of Wasseypur, Vineet gave his best performance till date.
