Tamannaah Bhatia is making waves and that too for all the right reasons. The 'Baahubali' actress is all set to be awarded the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award.
She is being awarded for her outstanding performance in the blockbuster 'Baahubali: The Beginning'. The film was directed by the legendary filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
It's the second honour in the year for Tamannaah who has recently been conferred with the iconic Sridevi Award at Zee Apsara Awards. Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award is also being given to actress Anushka Sharma for her contribution to the film industry as a producer and actor Ranveer Singh for his intense performance in Padmaavat. The awards will be presented by the Mumbai-based Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation on April 21.
While expressing her gratitude, Tamannaah said, “I’ve grown up knowing what immense involvement Dadasaheb Phalke had enjoyed in Indian cinema. It’s such an honour to be conferred an award from the foundation.”
On the work front, the Baahubali actress was last seen in a Tamil film 'Sketch' starring Vikram in the lead role. The film did not do too well at the box office as it clashed with Suriya's Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam. It was Tamannaah's first association with Chiyaan Vikram in Vijay Chander directed 'Sketch'.
But now, it seems Tamaanaah's kitty is full as she is currently working on Telugu film 'Naa Nuvve' and the Telugu remake of Bollywood film 'Queen'. Besides these two, she is reportedly been signed for the film 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' which features megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. But there has been no official statement about the same.
Reports are also doing the rounds that Tamannaah will be playing the lead role in F2 – Fun & Frustration which also stars Venkatesh and Varun Tej. The film is directed by Anil Ravipudi of 'Pataas' and 'Raja The Great' fame.
